NEW DVD TITLES FOR OCTOBER

MOVIES

Annabelle Comes Home (Rated R)- Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the possessed doll to the locked artifacts room in their home, placing her behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest's holy blessing. But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target, the Warrens' ten-year-old daughter and her friends.

Chernobyl (Rated TV-MA)- Tells the story of the 1986 nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the cleanup effort that followed.

Crawl (Rated R)- When a hurricane hits her hometown, Haley ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father. Finding him injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.

Lion King (Rated PG)- Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother, and former heir to the throne, has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy, and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.


Midsommar (Rated R)- A young woman reluctantly joins her boyfriend on a summer trip to a Swedish festival where things quickly go awry.

Red Joan (Rated R)-Joan Stanley is a widow living out a quiet retirement in the suburbs when she is arrested by the British Secret Service and charged with providing classified scientific information--including details on the building of the atomic bomb--to the Soviet Union. As she is interrogated, Joan relives the events that shaped her life and her beliefs.

Scary Stories: the Story of the Books That Frightened a Generation (Not Rated)-Explores the history of one of the most controversial works of modern children's literature--Scary stories to tell in the dark--which became one of the most banned books of modern times. Includes interviews with the author's family, scholars, folklorists, and children's book authors such as R.L. Stine and Q.L. Pearce.

Spider-Man Far from Home (Rated PG-13)- Our friendly neighborhood superhero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter's plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery behind several elemental creature attacks that are creating havoc across the continent.

Stuber (Rated R)- When a mild-mannered Uber driver named Stu picks up a passenger who turns out to be a cop hot on the trail of a brutal killer, he's thrust into a harrowing ordeal where he desperately tries to hold onto his wits, his life, and his five-star rating.

Toy Story 4 (Rated G)-Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that's Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called "Forky" to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.


Under the Autumn Moon (Not Rated)- When an ambitious executive convinces her boss that a picturesque ranch would be perfect for their company retreats, he agrees to let her check it out. However, her plan hits a snag when the owner, a charming cowboy, refuses to sell unless she can promise to preserve its history. He convinces her to stay and experience the magic of the ranch, but when her boss shows up with other plans in mind, will she have to choose between love or ambition?

TELEVISION SHOWS 

Doom Patrol Season 1 (Not Rated)- Following the mysterious disappearance of The Chief, these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

Queens of Mystery Series 1 (Not Rated)- Follows the entertaining adventures of Beth, Cat and Jane Stone, three crime-writing sisters, and their 28-year old niece, Detective Sergeant Matilda Stone. Using their extensive knowledge of crime, both real and fictional, they solve whodunit style murders in the picturesque English village of Wildemarsh. But no matter how many cases they are able to crack, the unsolved mystery that haunts them all is that of Matilda's mother's disappearance. Between investigating murders from the curious to the bizarre and writing their own renowned novels, the three aunts also attempt to help their perennially single niece find love.

Vikings Season 5 Volume 2 (Not Rated)- Season Five begins with Ivar the Boneless asserting his leadership over the Great Heathen Army, while Lagertha reigns as Queen of Kattegat. Iver's murder of his brother Sigurd sets the stage for vicious battles to come, as Ragnar's sons plot their next move after avenging their father's death.
